Railroad Line Expansion — Wetland, Stream, & Upland Mitigation

We collaborated with partners in the implementation of a federal mitigation project that constructed 1.9 acres of wetland and 5.1 acres of upland to offset impacts for a railroad expansion in eastern NY. The mitigation site was a former, abandoned and unreclaimed shale mine that was purchased and restored for mitigation. Our team was responsible for post-construction project management, annual monitoring and reporting, and adaptive management. The successful mitigation project is currently in the close-out phase. Our key partner was Working Lands Investment Partners.
