Gill Creek Green Infrastructure Project
We are leading an interdisciplinary team of partners to develop a green infrastructure project on behalf of Buffalo-Niagara Waterkeeper to reduce eutrophication and Harmful Algal Blooms at Hyde Park Lake in Hyde Park, City of Niagara Falls. Our team members provided project management, collaborated with partners on engineering and restoration design, led the community and stakeholder engagement process, and led the permitting process. The project will daylight and filter millions of gallons of previously untreated stormwater, create acres of wildlife habitat with native species plantings, beautify a public park, and provide public demonstration and education of nature-based solutions to water quality improvement. The project will be constructed in 2024, with our team leading implementation oversight and post-construction monitoring. Key partners include Working Lands Investment Partners and EcoStrategies Engineering and Survey.
